Position Overview:
The Software Engineer is responsible for developing control software to operate the Heliscope Single Molecule Sequencer. The Heliscope Single Molecule Sequencer is a high-performance DNA sequencing platform developed using C# to control advanced optical, imaging, fluidic and motion control hardware. The system also utilizes a rich user-interface developed using Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF). Additional programming opportunities include web services, WCF, and AJAX.
We are looking for a junior to mid-level developer to join our software development team. Our team uses an Agile, iterative software development methodology to deliver high-reliability, fault-tolerant software. All team members contribute to the design, code, and maintenance of the software. Team members have the opportunity to work on all parts of the system, including instrument control, user interface, communication, and database.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have experience developing object-oriented software in C# or C++. We are looking for a self-motivated developer with a strong desire to work in a team-oriented, Agile environment. Previous experience working on medical devices, laboratory automation, image processing, or motion controls systems is highly desirable. Familiarity with Python and Linux are a plus.
