Position Overview:
The Scientific Informatics group at Helicos supports our customers and internal R&D organization in the analysis of data and development of analytical tools for our HeliScope single molecule DNA sequencing platform. We seek an individual with sequence bioinformatics expertise, programming ability, good communication skills, and a strong customer orientation to join our team. The role will involve the use and development of analytical methods for sequence alignment, SNP detection, gene expression characterization, and more. The Scientific Informatics group consists of a mixture of biologists, computer scientists, and mathematicians; this multidisciplinary environment reflects the larger Helicos culture. Teamwork, responsibility, customer focus and the desire to create high quality scientific solutions are critical for success in the group.
